The Master Class Series: for Piano and Voice

General Information

Alexander & Buono International (ABI) is pleased to announce The Master Class Series, two six-month study symposia for students of Voice and Piano.

The first symposium (Children and Young Adult Seminar):

  • for classical pianists only, aged six through eighteen years;

The second symposium (Adult Seminar):

  • for singers and pianists eighteen years and older whose abilities range from accomplished amateur to professional.

Each series is made up of six master classes to be held once each month beginning in September 2011, culminating in a concert by participants in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on February 26, 2012.

Both series are limited to an enrollment of eight participants each, who must be prepared to perform at all of the six classes in the series, with a view toward honing technique and working on repertoire that will be presented at the final concert.

Each monthly session will also include a discussion group designed to offer more effective methods of performance, and overcoming anxiety.

Faculty Professors for the series are Barry Alexander and Cosmo Buono, Chairmen of Alexander & Buono International, and Thomas Osuga, Piano Preparatory Co-Chair for Mannes College The New School for Music.

Enrollment

Classes for the Series will be limited to eight students who must not only commit to attending each of the six master classes, but will also be required to perform at each of the six classes, and at the final Carnegie Hall concert. Seminar participants will also be responsible for helping to publicize the event along with Alexander & Buono International. Each participant will receive five complimentary tickets, but must also purchase an additional five. Recital tickets are $35.00 each.
