BARRY ALEXANDER INTERNATIONAL VOCAL COMPETITION
The Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition (BAIVC) has been designed as an entrée into the world of vocal performance for those seriously interested in pursuing a professional operatic career. BAIVC is open to students from age fifteen to adults, and divided into four categories:
HIGH SCHOOL |
COLLEGE |
AMATEUR ADULTS |
PROFESSIONAL ADULTS |
Students between the ages of 15 and 18 years. |
Students 18 years and older pursuing degrees in Music and/or Vocal Performance. |
Adults 18 years and older without professional degrees in Music. |
Adults 18 years and older with an undergraduate degree in Music, and/or those who have already begun professional careers. |
COMPETITION
Carnegie Hall is the site of the Winners’ Recital.
The next Winners’ Recital will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 1:30 PM.

FIRST PRIZE
Applicants chosen from the final round of competitors are given their debut performances in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as the First Prize.
In addition, Winners participate in “The Business of Music,” a seminar answering questions and offering advice on pursuing a professional career, which will be held on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM.
